About Us

The Chowchilla Junior Fair incorporated in 1946 as the Madera County Livestock Association.  An eleven-member board of directors governs the nonprofit association.  The Association has been charged by the County of Madera to manage the fairgrounds and hold an annual fair.  The fairgrounds spreads across approximately 55 acres and have five main buildings for rentals or exhibits.

The annual fair is six days long with four open to the public.  It always ends on the third Sunday of May.  The fairgrounds are also home to the Chowchilla Western Stampede, the Chowchilla Speedway, a 1/3-mile oval dirt track, with racing March through October, and the Chowchilla Barn Burner.

The fair integrates all aspects of the community through all of the mentioned events, bringing together its residents to celebrate its heritage of agriculture and family.

The Chowchilla Fairgrounds is home to the Chowchilla-Madera County Fair as well as the site for many other annual activities throughout the year. The fairgrounds is spread across approximately 55 acres.  The Chowchilla-Madera County Fairgrounds welcomes thousands of visitors for the annual Western Stampede, Chowchilla Speedway Racetrack, Chowchilla Barn Burner, Spring Festival activities and so much more.
