Madera County is located in the heart of the Central Valley and the Central Sierras. The fair itself is located in the city of Chowchilla. Downtown Chowchilla is home to a number of antique stores as well as restraunts and shops. If you are in the mood for wine, the Madera County Wine Trail is only a short distance away.
Madera County is home to several museums including the Sierra-Mono Indian Museum, the Sugar Pine Railroad, and Fresno Flats Historic Park. It is also the home of many lakes and also includes Yosemite National Park, Devil’s Postpile National Monument, and the John Muir Wilderness.
