NEW THIS YEAR - VIP Shopping Experience

New for 2025 we are pleased to offer a Friday night VIP exclusive for those age 21 and older. Tickets to this exclusive event are just $40 per person and will include early access to vendors, two complimentary drinks, two commemorative drink cups, appetizers, Vendor coupons valid for Saturday, November 22nd, and a swag bag. A limited number of tickets will be sold. This event will take place Friday November 21^st from 6pm-9pm.

Santa's Rodeo Roundup

We are excited to announce a new event to the Cowboy Christmas. Santa's Rodeo Roundup presented by The Chowchilla Western Stampede!

General Rules

Sign-Ups & Start Time

Sign-ups: 9:30 AM – 10:00 AM
Start Time: 10:30 AM

Dress Code

Must wear cowboy boots
Rain or mud boots are acceptable if no loops are present

Age Divisions

Age as of November 21, 2025
Divisions:

3 & Under
4–6 Years
7–9 Years

Judging

Judges’ decisions are final
The committee has the final say on all matters

Questions

Ask directors before competing if clarification is needed
Directors will wear official denim with the Chowchilla Western Stampede logo

Conduct

No unsportsmanlike conduct
Violations result in disqualification

Awards & Contestants

Contestants must take a photo upon receiving awards for social media posting

Entry Fees

$15 pre-entry online
$20 day-of entry
Fee includes all three events (contestant may choose to skip events)

Event 1: Dummy Roping

Rules

Slick horns = 3 points
Neck = 2 points
Half head = 1 point
3 loops
3 legal head catches
Fishing allowed, but contestant must stay behind the line
Parents may help build the loop, but no points if parent assists with swing, throw, or fishing
Tie-breaker: Dummy moved back; one loop each until winner determined

Prizes

Event 2: Stick (Reindeer) Horse Race

Equipment

Must bring your own stick horse

Rules

Stick must remain between legs when crossing the finish line
Participants start on the start line and run to the finish line
First to cross wins
Lines marked: Start, Finish, Parents Line

Event 3: Boot Race

Rules

Contestants must wear cowboy boots
Rain/mud boots allowed if no loops
One boot placed on the far side of arena
Contestant runs with one boot, retrieves the other, puts it on, then runs back
Parents may assist in 3 & under group only
No parent help for older groups
